MLM In China - Comment On New Regulations

China earlier this month finalized long-awaited rules governing direct sales, eliciting a lukewarm reaction from industry heavyweights like Amway Corp. and Nu Skin Enterprises Corp.

?The administrative intervention goes too far into the micro facet of business operations,? said an Amway official, who declined to be named. In China, Amway sells skin-care and nutritional products as well as a range of home items, such as laundry detergent.

The new rules require companies that engage in direct sales?the practice of selling goods or services through salespeople rather than in retail stores?to have registered capital of 80 million yuan ($10 million) in a China unit. In other industries, the capital requirement is only five million yuan.

Critical Review Of New MLM Company

'How would you like to live in your dream home ... drive the vehicle of your choice ... vacation wherever you like, whenever you like ... while enjoying permanent financial stability ... within the next six months?'

You can do all of that easily, if your pals Bill Gates or Warren Buffett are asking you that question as they hand you a blank check.

But when that question comes from the unknowns behind a Web site promising the moon but delivering moldy green cheese, you might want to check to see that your wallet is still in your pocket.

It's that feeling that makes 'I Got My 3, the six-month early retirement plan' -- and the company asking those initial questions -- today's pick for Stupid Investment of the Week.

I Got My 3 -- you can check it out at Igotmy3.com -- is a 'network marketing plan.' In the rogues' gallery of financial schemes, 'pyramid plans' became 'multilevel marketing' programs, which morphed into 'network marketing plans,' each name change made in an effort to sound less like a scam.
